About Us
Hello, my name is Rebecca Harvey and I have been
involved in various forms of photography for 25 plus
years. Started out as most photographers do, taking
images in black-white film, then developing and
making my own prints. Moved on into color film,
then most of my images were captured in
transparency media, until the digital world changed all
that.
Working with digital has brought all the fun back like
it was making prints from Black-White film. Now I
can capture images, see the results instantly. It allows
more creativity and being able to try new things,
without having to wait for a processor to develop the
film. Then being able to work in a digital dark room
has opened up new forms of displaying and printing
images. As now both Nikon and Canon have stopped
making professional film cameras, the digital world is
here to stay.
As a photographer I have traveled to many areas of
the world, with trips to Africa, Europe, Canada,
Mexico, and many parts of the United States. This
includes my own back yard of Yosemite.
Many of the images taken have won International,
Regional and local awards for print and transparency
medias. These awards have been in various fields of
photography such as travel, photo-journalism, nature,
still-life and portraiture.
These award wining images have been shown in
galleries in the San Francisco Bay area and at galleries
in the Modesto, Manteca, Groveland, and Sonora areas.
I have been offering workshops in Sill-life, Portraiture,
Natural and Studio lighting techniques. Current workshops
are Cattle-drives and "The Cowboy - An American Icon.
My philosophy for photography is the following:
"A photo opportunity will last for only a few seconds
but an image that captures your heart will last
forever."
With the many travels there have been many Photo
Opportunities. I am pleased to share some of these
with you.
